Brendon was a Junior (Under 13) finalist at the New Zealand Country Music Entertainer of the Year 2002

And Intermediate (Under 18) finalist in 2005.

He also won the Red Star Songwriting competition in 2006, which placed him in the senior songwriting final at NZCMA Entertainer of the year.  

April 2005 saw him win the Westport  “Best of the West” Awards Under eighteen overall.

He has competed in Gore at the “Gold Guitar Awards” in 2005 and 2006 making the finals in many sections and winning the intermediate duo in both years.
